In the summer of 2020, amid a global pandemic and a pivotal moment in America’s racial justice movement, our founder, Arin Gentry, transformed her passion into purpose. What began as a small community book drive grew into a mission to ensure young students have continuous access to culturally-relevant literature that reflects joy, pride, and positive representation. Arin knows firsthand how affirming it is to see oneself in the pages of a book, and she is committed to ensuring that young readers who look like her have the same empowering experience.
