Meet Our Director
ARIN GENTRY
FOUNDER & DIRECTOR

Born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, Arin has always been fueled by a love for learning and the power of storytelling. A proud graduate of Walnut Hills High School and the University of Cincinnati, she earned her B.A. in Communication and her M.A. in Higher Education Administration.

In the summer of 2020, amid a global pandemic and a pivotal moment in America’s racial justice movement, Arin transformed her passion into purpose. What began as a small book drive grew into a mission to ensure young students have access to Black literature that reflects joy, pride, and positive representation. She knows firsthand how affirming it is to see yourself in the pages of a book, and she is committed to making sure young readers who look like her have that same empowering experience.

Arin is also a mom to two amazing children, Kyrin and Ahri. When she’s not reading to them, she’s supporting college students in her role as a Senior Academic Advisor and Adjunct Instructor at the University of Cincinnati. Whether in the classroom, the community, or at home, Arin is dedicated to helping others learn, grow, and feel seen.
