Nonprofit Organization
BOOK DRIVE
Created in the summer of 2020, amid a global pandemic and racial tension by our
founder Arin Gentry.
The Black Literature Book Drive looks to raise funds to collect and distribute Black literature to Black youth. We are committed to putting books that center, reflect, and affirm Black youth into the hands of those who may not have access otherwise.
STORY TIME
Story time will be offered to classrooms across the Cincinnati public school district.
Volunteers will read culturally relevant literature to students’ Kindergarten through 3rd grade.
Every student will be given their own brand-new copy of the selected reading to take home.
BOOK CLUB
Book club will be offered as an after-school program for students 4th through 6th grade .
Students will be provided with their own copy of the reading and will engage with our volunteers with the goal of improving their overall comprehension skills.
Lessons for our book clubs will be provided by a licensed Cincinnati Public School educator.
BOOK FAIR
Every kid should have access to books, no matter their family's income.
The free book fair was created with this in mind. We wanted to be able to provide students with the experience of
attending a book fair and being able to take home books without having to worry about paying for those books.
We have successfully hosted four book fairs at local Cincinnati Public school elementaries, where every student went home with two brand new books for free.
